Screening Detects Ovarian Cancer Using Neighboring Cells

Northwestern University’s McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science reported on the Backman Lab’s ovarian cancer study that was published in the International Journal of Cancer. As described in this article, “The PWS-based test makes use of the “field effect,” a biological phenomenon in which cells located some distance from the malignant or pre-malignant tumor undergo molecular and other changes.” Click here to read full story.
